3-star Michelin Restaurateur Björn Frantzén Opens the Door to a New Experience in Hong Kong with The Flying Elk.
Come June 16, Swedish Chef Björn Frantzén is continuing his expansion in Hong Kong. Best known for his flagship restaurant Frantzén in his native Sweden, which was recently awarded its third Michelin star; Frantzén Group has several establishments in both Sweden and abroad. Today, his presence in Hong Kong is well known through the award-winning restaurant Frantzén’s Kitchen. His latest addition to open in Hong Kong is a version of his more casual eatery The Flying Elk in Stockholm.
The Hong Kong version of The Flying Elk is a partnership with restaurant group Maximal Concept and will feature influences from both the Nordics and the rest of Europe. The ambiance is best described as a Nordic Cabin, a casual setting made for easy dining with friend and family, with the Nordics as a red thread throughout the experience.
”Whether Nordic produce, Nordic flavoring or Nordic cooking techniques, you will taste our heritage from the time you set foot inside”, says chef Björn Frantzén.
The restaurant will serve medium size dishes and the bar will focus on a Swedish and Nordic beer selection, alongside an exclusively composed cocktail menu with a Nordic focus by award-winning Swedish bartender Oskar Johansson. Jim Löfdahl, Frantzén Group’s Culinary Director in Hong Kong will be running the kitchen. Jim is also the head chef at esteemed Frantzén’s Kitchen.
The Flying Elk will open June 16 2018, on 32 Wyndham St, Central, Hong Kong and seat over 100 guests.
